Bola Tinubu Sworn In As New President Of Nigeria
On the 29th day of May, 2023, Bola Tinubu, the winner of the presidential elections held on February 25, 2023, was sworn in as the fifth democratically elected president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria since the country's restoration to democracy in 1999.
Tinubu, popularly known as Jagaban, which loosely translates to "leader of warriors," has never veiled his desire to control the country. The politician, according to his convictions and the title bestowed upon him by the Emir of Borgu in Niger State, thinks that "power is not served à la carte."
Despite the obstacles he experienced before becoming the standard bearer of his party, the All Progressives Congress, Tinubu defeated the Peoples Democratic Party's candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and the Labour Party's candidate, Peter Obi.
Since his election victory, opposition party supporters have repeatedly accused the former governor of Lagos State of colluding with state machinery to rig the poll.
Surprisingly, in addition to the political opposition to his rise, there has also been a spiritual component to his hailed victory in the shape of several predictions that began to fly in the run-up to his inauguration.
While some religious leaders expected that the politician would be sworn in, others did not.
